We have begun work on preparing for our consultative ballot of school members, which will ask members whether they are prepared to take industrial action in response to funding cuts causing job losses, increased workload and rising stress for staff. We are currently finalising the questions that will be asked, which need to be linked to the potential for an industrial dispute.
The ballot is currently set to begin on the 22nd January, to allow a lead in for branches to raise awareness of the ballot with members when they are back into schools after the Christmas/New Year break.
Before the Christmas/New Year holidays and immediately afterwards, you can help to prepare for the consultation by updating your RMS details and ensuring correct email address is on membership records.
