Representations from Plymouth in UNISON and other unions have led to the jobs of schools staff in Stonehouse and Plymstock being saved, at least for now

Plans at Goosewell have been shelved until at least next year including those to cut wrap around care, and while there may still be difficult decisions to make next year depending on enrolment, the issue will at least be looked at holistically rather than seeking to make shortsighted savings exclusively at the expense of low paid non classroom staff.

The Schools of Creative Arts, now dubbed Milbay Academy will still unfortunately loose its pre and after school facility but there is at least some hope that it may return after building alterations are complete, and again longer term changes to the rest of the school structure have been postponed to allow proper consultation with stakeholders.
