Some people have been asking when we are getting our pay rise following the ballot result to accept the 5% consolidated rise and the lump sum.
Indeed, you may well have had an email from UNISON nationally assuring you that you will be getting it in June Pay packets.
Further to our email to branches on the pay deal for England last week, we now also have:
- Confirmation that the pay uplift, including the one off lump sum, will be in June pay packets.
- New joint guidance with the employers on giving staff the option to take their lump sum in instalments – which may help lessen impact on Universal Credit payments: https://www.nhsemployers.org/articles/202223-additional-payments-guidance
- A commitment to update and add to implementation FAQs here as required: NHS pay offer in England – frequently asked questions | NHS Employers
However we are becoming aware that there may be some complications around the Government Funding of this agreement to those members of the NHS family not directly employed by an NHS trust.
We are working with those employers such as Livewell to both deliver you the rise that you have earned and to ensure that they get the funding to maintain service levels but we cannot say yet if you will receive the money on time. We will continue to share information as it becomes available but want to avoid speculation about decisions that have not yet been made.
