Following the success of our recent Trans Ally training, we are holding a training weekend on 29th and 30th October at The Great Western Hotel in Taunton. This training is free to attend and all accommodation, food and travel expenses will be paid for. This event is open to both existing and new members so if you haven’t attended before, this is a great opportunity to meet other members of the Self-Organised group.

Some of the training that will be delivered will be:
- An Introduction to UNISON and how we work as a self-organised LGBT+ Group
- HIV/AIDS and LGBT+ History
- Promoting Trans Equality within your UNISON branch
- Regional planning for 2023 to include Pride events.
The event itself will start at 10:30am on Saturday and will finish at lunchtime on Sunday, there will also be an optional social event on Saturday evening. Sunday will focus on what we want to achieve as a Self-Organised group next year, how we challenge discrimination in the workplace and within the LGBT+ community, and also which Pride events we want to support across the region. Please bring along any ideas you have and what you would like to see the group achieving next year.
