October 1 - October 31

  • October is Black History Month and it’s a chance to celebrate the often-unheralded achievements of Black people throughout history. The pandemic this year has hit Black communities especially hard, so this year we are celebrating our Black members who work in the NHS who are ‘making history now’.

NHS workers and union activists know that the small steps they take may make a difference to people’s lives, now and in the future, and that’s why we wanted to share their stories.

Follow UNISON on TwitterFacebook and Instagram to read their stories from 1st October.

  • Black History Month: Celebrating cultural identities – 22 October, 11am – 12pm; 4pm – 5pm

have been organised to celebrate this year’s BHM. The first webinar looks at the origins and meanings of traditional dress and the second features Angela Jackman QC, exploring
    hair discrimination.
