Although much of the media would have us believe that the outcome of the general election on 8 June is a foregone conclusion, there is much to play for. Get involved now – with UNISON members, your colleagues, friends and family.
1. Use our public services champions campaign on Social media to make sure public services are at the top of the political agenda. https://www.unison.org.uk/our-campaigns/public-service-champions/
2. Contact your general election candidates about where they stand on pay, jobs and public services using this tool https://action.unison.org.uk/page/9365/action/1
3. Get out there on the street and campaign to mobilise voters.
Trade unions are asking their activists and members to get out this Saturday if you haven’t before. There are canvassing sessions at 10.30, 13.30 and 15.00 in both Moorview and Devonport consituancies. Just turn up to the Labour Hall on Lockyer St of the temporary base at Christian Mill Business Park. See links below for details.
Not able to put the miles in? Trade Union Labour supporters will be by the Sundial in Plymouth city centre from noon until at least 2pm. Come and help us take the manifesto to the public.
Shy retiring type? There is plenty to be done at the Locker Hall office, or we can hook you up with material to deliver in your area.
Finally after a hard day of campaigning reap your reward in musical heaven (as well as on June 9th) at a free and exclusive concert by leftie Billy Bragg. Book your tickets here https://origintickets.co.uk/store/?event=378
