At our Branch Development Day activists came up with a variety of ideas to build the union and win justice for our members

We have captured the ideas below but of course this is not a definitive list of things we do and can be subject to ongoing revision

Organise in Schools. Charlie Woods hired as FF Organiser to push this year

Participate regionally & nationally (NDC is crucial select at AGM with LG Conf delegates. Highlight opportunities on BC minutes

Empower with education, (New Reps Training in Plymouth Feb/March, Employment Law in April

Local Government Pay (Labour Council are supporting, quietly, need to communicate more with members about it)

Relationship with Labour Council. What do members want? Support for staff eg Waste Policy, eg Violence at work eg Green Travel pass(ichoose) Manifesto suggestions sent to Labour Councillors

Help with campaign? Organise a hustings? Focus on Jon Taylor (Unison member in marginal seat)

Climate- Engage with Climate Emergency plan. Improve staff recycling rates. Link with Laura & Green Champions in PCC. Support actions on 14th Feb and throught the year leading up to COP26 in Glasgow

Loneliness. (Role for retired members group?)

Stress at Work. (Link to Sickness levels, use employer stress surveys. Publicise resources-Options EAPs and There for You. Carer responsibilities, not just children

Healthcare Students and Apprentice Pay in the NHS (othe pay issues coming to light with HCAs and CCWs)

STP (KT, DD & IM keeping abreast) Campain to get Livewell back in the NHS highlighted by screening “Under the Knife”
