Plymouth in UNISON would like to express its support for teacher colleagues in the NASUWT taking action against a culture of bullying in the trust this week
We are fully behind their demands for a properly constituted JCC in line with the trade union recognition of all the major education trade unions (UNISON, NEU, NASUWT and GMB etc.) that should be in place from the point of transfer from the local authority.
We echo their call to end the culture of bullying within the schools and for ACE to draw up a proper agreed upon policy to tackle bullying in the workplace.
UNISON cannot instruct our members not to cross another unions picket line but would encourage them to show their support in any way they can, and we can advise our members that if they are required to go to work tomorrow then they should not undertake any duties normally undertaken by striking teachers.
